Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how EasySchool ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use our website and software. We process personal data in line with the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Norwegian data protection law.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address, a name you provide, and a hashed password (or Google account identifier if you log in with Google).
- License and purchase data: license end date, access code, device identifier (hardware ID), and payment records such as amount, currency and status.
- Technical data: login sessions, IP address and basic request data needed for security and to operate the Service.
- We do not store your card details; they are handled by our payment provider, Stripe.
2. How we use your data
- to create and manage your account and license;
- to process payments and provide support;
- to link a device to your access code and enforce the one-device rule;
- to protect the Service against abuse and fraud;
- to comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases
We rely on performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and operating our business), and legal obligation (for example, accounting). Where consent is required, we ask for it.
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed to run the Service, with providers such as:
- Stripe (payments);
- Google (optional login);
- our hosting and database provider (Render);
- AI and web-search providers used to generate answers.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Retention
We keep account and license data while your account is active and for a short period afterwards, and payment records as required by accounting law. We delete data when it is no longer needed.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Reach us through the contact page to exercise these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies and sessions
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. It is required for the Service to work and is not used for advertising or tracking. See our Cookie Policy for details.
7b. Tracking and third-party embeds
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking pixels. This site does not embed third-party fonts, videos or social widgets. Payments (Stripe) and optional login (Google) happen on the providers' own pages, where their policies apply.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
If you are below the age where you can consent to data processing in your country, use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
10. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
